Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in Renton, WA

Lakeside-Milam’s physicians use a variety of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options to help clients overcome addictions to opioids, alcohol, and other substances. Using medications for opioid addiction and alcoholism in conjunction with clinical care sets our clients up for successful recovery by relieving discomfort and cravings.

For the treatment of opioid addiction, we prescribe opioid agonist medications, which bind to the same receptors in the brain that are activated by heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioids. For clients with alcohol addiction, Lakeside Milam’s physicians may recommend naltrexone (Vivitrol). These medications work by reducing cravings and contribute to relapse prevention by blocking the effects of alcohol.

In both cases, by knowing that the effects of these addictive substances won’t produce the euphoria expected, addicted individuals will discontinue using them. In addition to this, their mechanism of action reduces cravings at the same time.

How We Define Addiction

Like the American Medical Association, LMRC considers addiction to be a primary, progressive disease rather than a symptom of mental illness or a consequence of moral failure. Our multidisciplinary treatment model addresses healing of mind, body, spirit and relationships, and our evidence-based programs are a catalyst for transformative recovery.

Scattered throughout the Pacific Northwest, LMRC’s alumni are our greatest source of referrals. No matter how you found our Renton campus, rest assured you have joined a growing family of clean, sober, hopeful men and women.

Effective, Affordable Alcohol & Drug Treatment in Renton

Lakeside-Milam’s treatment philosophy is simple: We provide effective, convenient and discreet care tailored to our clients’ individual needs and designed to minimally disrupt their busy lives. The flexibility of our outpatient curriculum allows men and women to reside with their families, sustain employment and participate in family and community activities while attending rehab.

LMRC’s IOP is unique for several reasons. First, we offer free, same-day clinical assessments so clients can begin treatment without delay. Second, our renowned Western Washington treatment centers provide a full continuum of services. Finally, we choose discreet locations in office buildings and medical centers near major highways. (For the convenience of clients and families, each clinic also has ample access to parking.)

Our South Seattle IOP facility caters to men and women who do not require inpatient withdrawal management or intensive residential care. We are also proud to serve patients transitioning from residential treatment centers into independent or sober living homes.
